A gorgeous afternoon for a Sapphire Point Engagement session, with perfect Colorado Sunshine, and the kind of Mountain pink sunsets you only see in the Rockies!
These two…I tell ya. I had such a blast hanging out with them and frolicking through the Perfect Colorado Winter snow! I was luck enough to meet up with Stacie and Danny when they were visiting their family over Christmas break here in Silverthorne area. We visited some quintessential spots around Lake Dillon and Sapphire Point!
I have a love/hate relationship with Winter. Truly. (I know…you are saying…”Jenae, you live in Colorado….how could you hate winter!?”) . I have lived in this 4-season state (although not quite as much difference anymore) my whole life (yep- I’m a Native Unicorn lol!)…and as much as I appreciate the change in seasons, and truly love different things about each season…I gotta say Winter is not my 100% fav lol. I’m not a fan of being really cold, and I am not a fan of the “brown” trees and crappy roads, etc. HOWEVER…..
Then I get days like this. Then I have days where the Colorado bluebird sky glistens on fresh snow…and coats the jagged peaks just perfectly. There are days when I get more of a sunburn in Winter than Summer. There are days when you get to wear a short sleeve shirt while caving down a perfect slope. There are things that the Winter can do to a scene and to your Energy…that you just don’t get in the other months. You have to work a bit harder for things. You have to get outta your comfort zone a bit.
For that….maybe I don’t HATE Winter…maybe I was exaggerating lol. I guess I will rephrase and be a little more tankful for it…and be happy that I get moments like I had with these two on a gorgeous mountain hillside. Embrace and love the fresh crisp air on my face…and remember that being out of my comfort zone is always a good idea!
