Sunny afternoon Engagement adventuring!
Colorado mountain-top locations make for a perfect Engagement Photography session!
Megan and Matt are just too cute. And pretty much look like a pair of J crew models ;) Of course, we started our session by meeting up at Dillon Dam Brewery (as I do with many of my clients!) for a Brew- and then we set out to go adventuring around Summit County! It was an absolutely gorgeous afternoon- and we were treated with some beautiful evening light!
My favorite thing to do during Engagement sessions is just to pick a few spots- but then just drive around and pull over, or stop and get out when it looks awesome! I LOVE just adventuring and tromping around the Colorado mountains! The ultimate best is that I have the best Clients- and they just trust my craziness! ;)
Sapphire Point is located on the eastern side of Lake Dillon (near Frisco and Breckendridge), and photographs so differently at any point during the day- and year! I have shot a handful of Wedding ceremonies there too- and it just never disappoints! You get amazing views of the Lake, Silverthorne, the Gore Range, etc! I love starting at this location- and then heading down the road to the Campground area- I love the big meadows and trail that leads along the ridge! Perfect for those intimate Colorado Engagement sunset photos!
One of my favorite places to finish up and do Adventure engagement sessions is Loveland Pass. It's easily accessible (with good roads/weather), and like 12 minutes from Lake Dillon! It's also open year round because it has to be open for Trucks that cannot pass through Eisenhower tunnel! So, it's a perfect spot for Winter Engagements too- without having to hike or Snowshoe in to get views! So, naturally, after we played around Lake Dillon, we raced up the Mountain to get to Loveland Pass for the final minutes of sunset! We just barely missed the last rays as they fell behind the mountain....but we got some really lovely Alpenglow along Grays and Torrey Peaks (the headwall backdrop for Arapahoe Basin too!). Like usual though- it was windy up there- so we snapped a few pics and jumped back in the cars! ;)
Megan and Matt are tying the Knot in Nebraska this summer- and I wish them a killer Wedding day!! Thanks for having me along on this part of your adventure! ;)
xoxo
