Gorgeous Summer Crested Butte Wedding
No shortage of laughter and fun at this laid-back Colorado mountain wedding!
I love human connection. Truly. I love the random tangled webs we weave of connection throughout our lives…it’s so interesting!! I know Stephanie through friends of good friends for years (as well as small stint in same working industry!), and I was so stoked when she reached out to me for her wedding photos…even though time had passed since we had really hung out! Relationships matter people! And I do not take mine for granted…I am so thankful for all the relationships I have made..and that some of them eventually lead me to documenting some of the biggest moments in people’s lives!
I loved this wedding. It was the epitome of perfect Colorado mountain wedding in my opinion! Down to earth, yet planned so everyone could relax and have fun! Of course too, Crested Butte Weddings are something magical all their own! I mean, look at that sun-lit mountainside!
The day started with the couple getting ready at a Mt. Crested Butte Condo at the base of the mountain….where we also proceeded to do their first look right on the Ski hill! I loved the mountain bikers flying by in the background! After that, we headed over to the Mountain Wedding Garden, where the wedding and reception would be! We saddled up for the ceremony, and everything flowed from there!
It was a gorgeous and perfectly lit afternoon— the small clouds moved over during ceremony just so that it was pretty even lighting, and then we got gorgeous late afternoon sun on the hillside for portraits! YEESSSS. The reception decor under the Pavillion was simple and elegant, with a perfect BBQ catered dinner that was a crowd pleaser! I loved the random Pint and pilsner mugs and glasses that served as everyone’s glasses that night! The toasts were on par, and the DANCING….let me tell you!!! So, Yates had a daughter, who I fell in love with- she’s so spunky, and just her own person!! We’re best buds (haha!)!! (she’s right around my boys age!), and they were just two peas in a pod—- Yates was an awesome dancer, and clearly taught his daughter the biz!! I loved their dance-off’s….and their Father/daughter dance was just ridiculously amazing and cute. (cue tears….). I LOVE the relationship that Kenzie has formed with Steph too, you can tell this is such an amazing family-joining affair. (<<<<<HUGGSSSSS>>>>>).
Anywho! You can see that the party lived through the night, and the dancing was off the hook! Cue crazy 80’s blow-up saxophones, and glow sticks!!
I’m pretty damn lucky to be a Colorado wedding photographer, and especially in places like Crested Butte!
Thank you both, Steph and Yates, for including me on such an amazing adventure…I’m so happy for you, and thankful to be a part of it!!! CHEERS!!!!
xoxo
