Colorado snow brings magic to Styled shoot!

When it is the "off-season", for wedding photographers, we like to do projects- styled shoots, etc. I have been working a bit on some personal projects and Commercial/editorial style shoots over the last year or two...and I managed to put together this little styled shoot this past early Spring! I decided that since I was putting together a shoot- I might as well invite some other photographers as well- just so that we could all "dust off the cobwebs" before Wedding season hit again! Despite the crazy Colorado Winter Spring blizzard that hit- of course- we trudged on and ended up having an awesome shoot up in beautiful Evergreen Colorado!
The wonderful people at The Meadows at Marshdale, were kind enough to let us come play at their venue, and it was perfect! We started out by capturing and practicing some "detail" shooting! I out together a styled table- and florals. (My own table and chairs, and then put together a style based around some cool little props I bought at Hobby Lobby! I got the florals at Whole Foods- which I LOVE bc they get a lot of great stuff from cool farms! For the bride style and jewelry, I got it all at H&M!). One of the other photographers was kind enough to provide her wedding dress and Sweater for us to use! It was fun to see how everyone shoots images differently, and approaches a scene differently! After photographing details, we did some Engagement style images for our model couple- as a thank you for them coming out and modeling for us! You can see those images here!
As we were waiting for our model couple to change their clothes-- the weather started immediately blizzarding at an alarming pace!! So we raced outside to get some photos! It was almost impossible to focus our cameras the snow was coming down so hard! But we still managed to get some really cool shots that you probably wouldn't typically get at a real wedding! Welcome to Colorado!! ;) We ran back inside for a bit, and started packing up- as we didn't want to not be able to get down the hill back to Denver if the weather was really not going to slow down. within a short period of time, the snow eased up and the snow became just a light falling beautiful scene! Oh Colorado.....
