Echo Lake Winter Proposal & Engagement Session in Colorado
Winter in Colorado is one of the best seasons for adventurous proposals — fewer crowds, unreal mountain views, and those famous bluebird skies that make photos pop. This Echo Lake proposal and engagement session had all of it: sunshine, snow, and a couple who was all smiles from start to finish.
As far as winter engagement photo locations go in Colorado, Echo Mountain area is one of my favs. It gives you big mountain scenery without a long hike, which makes it perfect for surprise proposals while still feeling like a true mountain adventure!
As Chris and Olivia arrived at our planned location (with me looking like just a random photographer taking photos of the Lake….), they ventured out onto the frozen lake- and after a small walk towards Mt. Evans that towered above…. Chris got down on his knee and popped the question! After quite literally jumping for joy- Olivia said yes instantly — and the excitement that followed made for some of the sweetest engagement photos.
Between laughter, celebratory hugs, and a few happy spins in the snow, we captured their newly-engaged energy with the frozen lake and towering peaks as the backdrop. This is what winter engagement photography in Colorado is all about — epic scenery mixed with real, candid moments.
Multiple Colorado Mountain Photo Spots in One Session
One of the best perks of getting engaged in the Colorado mountains is how many incredible locations are packed into a short drive. After finishing at Echo Lake, we headed down the mountain and stopped at several scenic pull-offs and hidden viewpoints. Each spot offered something different — Cliff views, open mountain overlooks, and golden winter light cutting through the trees.
Even though this was a bit ago— big congrats to these two!! I know their wedding day will be just as amazing!
