~Gorgeous Summer Granby Ranch Wedding~
Caren and Seth wait out the storm to say "I do" on Colorado Mountain-top Wedding!
This couple has my heart! Truly--from the minute I met Caren for a drink- I knew we connected! I love their passion for adventure and the outdoors, how they treat each other, and how they are up for anything!
It only made sense that this adventurous couple chose a Mountain-top location for their wedding! Granby Ranch has stunning views from all directions once you take the lift to the top! (and bonus-- you don't have to be on I-70 for a long time to get there!!). The day was a total bi-polar Colorado weather type of day---(as usual)-- but in the end it all worked out! After the ceremony being started and then stopped almost immediately due to lightning (the guests were already boarding the busses back down the mountain)- but Seth was NOT going to let mother nature (and the event managers) beat him!! He was going to marry his bride on the top!! I love it. We waited it out-- and eventually I think everyone realized that they were not going down. It cleared up just long enough to finish the ceremony up top-- woohoo!!
Before all this craziness though-- we did have some moments of beautiful sun and dark cool skies, for first look photos and Bridal party! The wind was a contender-- but I actually love how wind adds dimension to photos-- it can really help represent what it looked like that day.
The reception was nothing short of a great party!! The wedding party came in dancing (which I always love!)-- and every single guest was on the dance floor that night! Including Caren's little grandma that I just adore-- just the cutest lady EVER. Also, I have to mention that Caren and her friend really tore it up singing and interpretive dancing to Whiney Houston's "I want to dance with somebody"....it was pretty awesome. I LOVE LOVE LOVE when people just totally let loose and enjoy their wedding!!
We wrapped up with a little night shot- and then headed back down the mountain. I wish you guys all the best-- thank you for having us a part of your day!!!
