Fall Engagement adventure at scenic Maroon Bells
I was honored to get the chance to hangout with Kylie and Seth this beautiful Fall morning, and hit up one of Colorado's most iconic settings!
Even after living in Colorado my entire life, this was my first time to the Maroon Bells! It was so fun getting to do one of my favorite things while seeing it as well (taking epic portraits with awesome people!!)! We were originally going to drive up at Sunrise to the lot, but with the peak weekend, we were nervous we wouldn't get a spot (it's massively crowded this time of year with Landscape photographers at Sunrise), and then totally miss all the morning light....so we decided to just jump on the very first shuttle right at 8am- and it turned out being totally perfect! I do admit that when I was driving to Aspen from Carbondale as Sunrise was happening....it was pretty epic...and I was kinda kicking myself....but once we got to the Aspen Shuttle lot, they said the lot had already filled and we would've potentially had to turn back around, so we were happy with our decision!
We didn't get the first morning light glow- but as you will see, we got some amazing colors on the mountain, and those awesome blue skies- and I love front dramatic lighting....so it worked wonderful for me! I love that there are so many beautiful spots around the Maroon Bells lake too- you can get the typical shots with the Bells in the back, and then down by the lake, but as you walk around to the back side of the lake and venture out a bit- there are so many beautiful shots. It's really just an epic spot for a Engagement session- certainly makes my job as a Colorado Engagement and Wedding Photographer pretty easy!
Kylie and Seth are tying the knot this Spring up at Elk Camp Restaurant in Snowmass- and I am so totally excited!! I LOVE mountain top Weddings- and I know these two are going to have such an amazing Wedding!
