Colorado Fall Hiking Elopement
Sunset Adventure Elopement in Indian Peaks Wilderness
Welp, it’s no lie that I suck at all things Website and Blogging…and I have literal years worth of amazing love stories and photos to share, sigh….but alas….It’s few and far between.
However! I made a goal to share a few stories from the last year or two because there were so many amazing ones— and I wanted to share a peek from my world of how so many people rallied and put their love and commitment to each other first— despite a stupid Pandemic! The last couple years for everyone have no doubt been a weird mix of confusion, anger, frustration (to name a few things)….but I have also seen a lot of hope and spirit!
One of the really cool things that has really taken off in the last few years (with the help of COVID)…is the notion of Eloping and Adventuring for your wedding! True, it was already on the rise before SHTF, but I was still able to see so many of my beautiful clients because they chose to still have their day no matter what (and Elope!)! I think it has also very much allowed people to put some of the more traditional feelings and obligations aside (if that was in fact a worry for them). Anywho! Big wedding affair or Adventure Elopement- they are of course both a gorgeous way to celebrate your day— just do what is important for YOU and your partner! Whichever floats your boat! ;)
So, I wanted to share a few cool Colorado Elopements and adventures from this past year (As Elopements can all look different from each other as well!)! Starting with these Warriors!!!
Emily and Dan originally had a large Colorado wedding booked in Beaver Creek. They were right in the date mix of 2020 when all things cancelled. After many months of going back and forth, and venue issues, etc….they decided to stay the course of getting married in Colorado (albeit the next year), as they actually live out of state, but it would just be them and a few important people in their life! They are avid hikers and wanted to just come adventure with their family/friends…and get Married in top of a mountain!! I loved it.
So, we planned for months about picking a location and all that! And, they would be doing a big reception later this year back home to also (surprise!) celebrate with everyone they intended to have at their big wedding. Boom! Best of both worlds!! We eventually landed on a beautiful Hike in the Indian Peaks Wilderness! (Near Nederland and Boulder areas).
We had an absolutely stunningly sunny Colorado Fall day, and couldn’t have asked for better weather! Once we got to the Trailhead (after meeting at their VRBO first), we headed up about halfway to the Summit of our Trail, and they said their vows in a gorgeous Mountain meadow! After that, and celebratory drinks were had, (and snacks of course!), we headed up to Summit right around Sunset time! The wind was thankfully manageable for us on the Saddle where we summited our portion…and we got a gorgeous Alpenglow, while they all enjoyed some hot cocoa! We watched the sunset and got some pics and warmed up, and then headed back down!
It was an incredible day to be a part of…and I am so thankful to have been the one to document this adventure for Emily and Dan!!! Congrats you guys!!!
Until the next Colorado Elopement Adventure!
xoxo
PS— My hubby was my hiking partner/sherpa with me this day! ❤️. You can spy him in one of the photos actually CATCHING the brides Veil as it flew off her head from a mountain perch! 😂. Nice grab honey!!!
