Perfect day for Denver spring Wedding!
Jenny and Colby say "I do" at Urban Denver Hotel
It is always a bit different going into a wedding when I have not done an engagement session with them....it's like, you have no idea what they look like, how they interact together, their personalities, etc. Engagement sessions are great because you get to really see how they react to each other and which poses work well. So, when you don't do a session, and just do the wedding, it can sometimes take a couple minutes to get "in the groove" and get them loosened up around the camera. However, with these two-- it was not needed. They were the most laid back, genuine, and casually comfortable people-- and we're so easy to pose and natural in front of the camera. It made for such a pleasant afternoon to just be around two people that were truly just so happy to be getting married and around their friends and family!
Man, Jenny was a trooper too. She had recently had a surgery on her leg, and probably should NOT have been walking around the way she was...but she powered through the whole day and didn't complain once. Isn't their ringbearer dog just the cutest too!!?
We met up at the Magnolia Hotel in Downtown Denver, where their Ceremony and Reception were taking place. We did a fun and urban First Look right in the breezeway, as it was extremely busy and bright out on the streets! After that we grabbed some fun city shots with the Bridal party- and then it was Ceremony time! After the ceremony, we got family portraits of course, and then packed it up into a party Limo bus, and headed to Civic Center Park for some more City style portraits! We happened to hit just the end of the apple trees blossoming.....and it was glorious! those pinks!! It was beautiful!
Their elegant red, black and white styled reception continued in the Magnolia Hotel ballroom Downtown Denver, and was a great time to be had by everyone!
As much as I love Outdoor Colorado Mountain Weddings, and Farm weddings, and Destination weddings.....I immensely enjoy mixing it up with City and Downtown Weddings! I love the mix of colors, the lights, and welcome the different lighting challenges! Basically, I have the best job!
Props to all the vendors who worked so hard on this wedding and beautiful day! (including Grandma that did all the flowers! ;) As I believe in telling a story on the blog, there are a handful of photos on here as well that were taken by my wonderful friend and photographer partner for the day, Erin Cady! Thanks Erin!
Enjoy!
